Is it to harsh to tell your bf you would break up with him if he forgets prom/ makes excuses?

My bf and i had a spat after he didn't give me any real reason why he wouldn't go to the homecoming dance with me. Last year we broke up before prom. He told me he would go to prom with me because he knew how important it is to me. Over the weekend i told him that if he didn't go to prom with me this time it was over. Was i to harsh?Is it to harsh to tell your bf you would break up with him if he forgets prom/ makes excuses?
Every relationship is a two way thing---%26gt;%26gt;give and take on both parts.Has it occurred to you that he may not be able to dance or to afford a tux ? Talk to him and make sure you know his reasons for not going to dance venues.Is he very self conscious or have a false impression of his own image. ?Is it to harsh to tell your bf you would break up with him if he forgets prom/ makes excuses?
~ yeah that is a little harsh. You might have wanted to instead express to him how important prom is to you and that you really want to go. Threatening him isn't the best way to go about getting what you want. ~
